Signing in and your own account
How to get into your panel, what to do when you cannot, how to accept an invitation, and how to change your own name, email, password and display language.
Signing in
Your panel lives at your venue's own web address with /admin on the end. Bookmark it — every venue has its own, and signing in on someone else's will not work.
- Enter your address in Work email.
- Enter your Password. The eye icon on the right shows or hides what you typed.
- Press Sign in.
You land on your Dashboard.
If you work the door, you land on the door screen instead. That is normal — the door role is meant to see only the admit tools. Not every venue runs a door; if your venue does not, nobody at it has that role.
If sign-in is refused
- "Incorrect email or password." One of the two is wrong. The message is deliberately vague about which, so nobody can use the page to find out whether an address exists. Check for a stray space, and check that caps lock is off.
- "Too many sign-in attempts. Wait a few minutes and try again." Too many failed tries in a row. Wait a few minutes, then try once, carefully. If you are not sure of the password, reset it instead of guessing again.
- "Enter your password to continue." The password box was left empty.
You forgot your password
- On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?
- Enter your Email.
- Press Send reset link.
You will see: If an account exists for that email, we've sent a reset link. Check your inbox. That same message appears whether or not the address is known, so nobody can use the page to fish for who works at your venue. There is a Send again button if you need it, and ← Back to sign in to go back.
Open the email and press the button in it. You will be asked to choose a new password, then sent back to sign in.
Two things to get right:
- Do this on your own venue's sign-in page. A request made anywhere else will not reach your account.
- The link is good for 2 hours. After that ask for a new one.
If no email arrives, check your spam folder first, then ask a colleague with admin access to press Reset password for you on the Staff screen.
Accepting an invitation
When someone invites you, you get a link — by email, or passed to you directly.
- Open the link.
- You will see Set your password, with your email address underneath so you know which account it is.
- Enter a Password and repeat it in Confirm password.
- Press Save.
You will see Done! Redirecting you to sign in… and land on the sign-in page. Sign in with your email and the password you just chose.
Your password must be at least 10 characters, and very common passwords are refused. If you see "That password is too common — choose a stronger one.", pick something less guessable. If you see "Passwords don't match.", the two boxes differ.
If the page instead says This link is invalid — "The link has expired or was already used. Ask your manager for a new one." — that is exactly what to do. An invitation link lasts 7 days and works once.
Your own name, email and password
Open the account menu (your initials, top right) and choose Profile.
The top card, Account, shows your details. Your Role, Venue and Last sign-in are shown for information only and cannot be edited here.
Change your display name
In the Name card, edit Display name and press Save name. This is how you appear across the panel and in the activity log.
Change your email
In the Email card:
- Type the new address in Email.
- Type your existing password in Current password — this is what proves it is really you.
- Press Save email.
You will see Email saved. Takes effect at your next sign-in. From then on, sign in with the new address.
If you see "That email is already in use in this venue.", someone on your team already has it.
Change your password
In the Password card:
- Enter your Current password.
- Enter your New password and repeat it in Confirm new password.
- Press Change password.
The same rules apply: at least 10 characters, and no very common choices.
You will be signed out straight after. That is on purpose — changing your password ends any session that was opened with the old one, including on other devices. Sign in again with the new password.
If you see "Current password is incorrect.", the first box is wrong.
The language you see the panel in
Still on Profile, the Language card at the bottom has one setting: Display language. Choose from English, Македонски, Español, Deutsch, Français, Italiano, Português, Srpski or Hrvatski. It changes immediately.
This is your personal setting — it sets the admin panel language in this browser. It does not affect your colleagues, and it does not change what visitors see on your public site. Your site's languages are set separately, in Venue settings.
Because it is stored in the browser, you will pick it again on a new device or after clearing your browser data.
Light or dark
The button beside your initials at the top of the panel switches between light and dark. Like the language, it is yours alone and does not touch your public site.
Signing out
Open the account menu and choose Sign out. At the door, the Sign out button is right in the top bar.
Sign out at the end of the shift on any shared phone or tablet.
If something looks wrong
- You are sent back to sign in over and over. Your session has ended. Sign in once more; if it keeps happening, reset your password.
- "Exit impersonation first." You are viewing another venue as Noctessa staff. Leave that view before editing your own account.
- You cannot see Venue settings, Staff or the Activity log. You have the door role, which is limited to the admit screen on purpose. Ask an admin at your venue if you need more.
- A screen this help centre describes is not in your menu. Some screens belong to a particular plan, and some can be switched off per venue. See Your Noctessa subscription.
- You see "Account suspended" or "Access temporarily unavailable". You signed in fine, but the venue's account is not currently active, so the panel is closed. The screen offers only Sign out. Contact your Noctessa contact to reactivate it.
- You changed your email and cannot get back in. Use the new address. If it still fails, use Forgot password? with the new address.
- You never got the invitation email. Check spam, then ask whoever invited you to open Staff, invite the same address again, and send you the link directly.
