Noctessa — help

Noctessa help

What Noctessa does for your venue, how the admin panel is laid out, and which help page to read for the job you have in front of you.

What Noctessa is

Noctessa is for venues that sell a place — a table, a seat, a slot of time — and then have to run the service around it. Bars, lounges, bistros, restaurants, clubs, event spaces and concert halls. It gives your venue two things: a public website your guests book from, and one dashboard your team works from.

It comes as four venue plans plus Enterprise. They are different products for different rooms, not steps on a ladder:

PlanWho it is forWhat it sells
Nightsbars, lounges, clubsTables against a published event. The guest picks the night, then a table.
Diningrestaurants, cafés, bistrosTables against a date and a time. The room turns over during a service.
Day & Nightvenues that do both on the same tablesBoth of the above on one floor plan.
Liveconcerts and seated eventsNumbered seats sold as tickets against a seating chart.
Enterprisevenues that need the platform to reach outside itselfA custom address we set up, plus links to other systems. Priced per venue.

Which one you are on decides which screens you see. Your Noctessa subscription says where to look it up, and your Noctessa contact will tell you which plan suits your room.

What you can do

  • Publish what is on. Put an event up with a date, door time, lineup, price and photo. It appears on your site the moment you publish it.
  • Take bookings. Guests book a table from your site. Every booking lands in one list, with the guest's name, party size and status.
  • Run the room. Draw your floor plan once, then assign tables to guests live during service — on a laptop or a phone.
  • Issue and check tickets. Guests get a ticket with a code. Your door staff scan it at the entrance and see instantly whether to admit.
  • Reach your followers. Write a post once and publish it to Instagram and Facebook, now or on a schedule.
  • Get discovered. Your venue and what it has coming up can appear on the Noctessa marketplace, where guests browse by city.
  • Keep control. Invite your team, give each person the access they need, and see a log of every change anyone made.
  • Ask instead of digging. The Assistant button in the corner of every screen answers questions about the product and about your own venue ("Which tables are still free tonight?"), citing the help page or the data it used.

Your site speaks your guests' language. English is the default, and you choose which other languages your site offers.

How the admin panel is laid out

Sign in and you land on your dashboard. The panel has three parts.

The sidebar, down the left on a computer and behind the menu button on a phone. These are the screens you use most, in the order you use them:

  1. Dashboard — your venue at a glance: new reservations, published and draft events, what is next, and a Finish setting up checklist while anything is still missing.
  2. Events — every event you have ever made, filtered by All, Draft, Published, Cancelled or Archived. The New event button is here.
  3. Reservations — every booking, with the guest, party size, table and status. Confirm, assign a table, or add a reservation yourself with New reservation.
  4. Floor plan — your room, table by table. Tap a table to book it or assign a waiting guest.
  5. Publishing — connect Instagram and Facebook, then compose, schedule and send posts. On unless it has been switched off for you.

The top bar, across the top of every screen. It shows the name of the screen you are on, a search box (Search or jump to…, or the keyboard shortcut shown next to it) that jumps to any screen, a light/dark theme switch, and your account button on the right.

The account menu, behind your initials in the top right. The screens you visit less often live here:

  • Profile — your own name, email, password and the language the panel is shown in.
  • Venue settings — your branding, your site content, your languages, your location, your marketplace listing and your guest payment setup.
  • Billing — your plan, your status, and the button to change your card.
  • Staff — invite your team and set what each person can do.
  • Activity log — every admin action, newest first.

Door staff see something different. When someone with the Door role signs in, they go straight to the door screen with the scanner, the expected-guest list and the Admit button. They do not see the rest of the panel.

If something looks wrong

  • A screen is missing from the sidebar. Some screens are switched on per venue, and some belong to a particular plan — Publishing and floor-plan editing can be turned off. Ask the Noctessa team.
  • You see "Account suspended" or "Access temporarily unavailable" instead of your dashboard. Your account is paused. Check Billing first, then contact the Noctessa team.
  • A guest tells you your site says "This venue is temporarily unavailable". Same cause — see Billing.
  • Someone on your team cannot see what you see. Check their role on the Staff screen. Door staff only ever see the door screen.
